My Dear Brother,

I want to always be careful in what I say to a brother-in-Christ, recognizing that Jesus shed His precious blood for you and for me. I want to simply reiterate what I believe you already know, but I believe that it is important that we reference the following again: This is a matter that needs to be resolved between yourself, your pastor, your congregation and your conference leadership. If your conference is either unable or unwilling to bring about a resolution then the next step is to consult with your Union leadership. As a final recourse, and only at the request of the Atlantic Union administration, will the North American Division become involved in this issue. I remain faithful to the first promise that I made to you: I continue to pray for the resolution of this matter through the working of the Holy Spirit.

Comments:

His decision is in accordance with Working Policy L-60 section 10 which deals with misconduct by a pastor which the policy says is "a matter of general denominational concern" yet the "final recourse" offered by the NAD President leaves it to the Union Conference administration to request help from the division.

This policy is written to apply to all situations and any flaw in the policy is revealed by a situation that overcomes the policy.

For example: Let's consider a local conference that is unwilling to clear a pastor in their employ but they know he has done the acts of misconduct that he is accused of doing. If the Union Conference administration is indifferent or neglects to do the duty defined by this policy they may do nothing more that ask the local conference to deal with this. If the Union Conference does not ask for help from the division, the problem gets put into a 'LIMBO' state. Whatever the misconduct is, it will probably continue and the situation will deteriorate with time and the damage grows and grows.

Satan delights to work in an environment where the church leaders will do nothing to stop him.

Concerned members can not depend on the North American Division because the NAD President has decided to follow this policy and not do anything unless the Union requests help.

Satan's rebellion was to be a lesson to the universe through all coming ages, a perpetual testimony to the nature and terrible results of sin. It would testify that with the existence of God's government and His law is bound up the well-being of all the creatures He has made. Thus the history of this terrible experiment of rebellion was to be perpetual safeguard to all holy intelligences, to prevent them from being deceived as to the nature of transgression, to save them from committing sin and suffering its punishments.

	I pray that the Lord has given the reader the spiritual discernment to see that the rebellion of this pastor is leading to the same place as Satan's rebellion, and many souls will be lost because they did not learn the 'lesson to the universe' - I hope that you will agree that good judgment comes from experience and experience comes from bad judgment. It is very poor judgment NOT to see the divine authority in the basic rules governing the operation of a local church.
If the Atlantic Union Conference administration does not refer this matter to the North American Division the concerned members will realize the church leaders are palsied with inaction.
