Response to Prayers for Revival
.

The church has prayed for Revival and Reformation

A revival comes from the Holy Spirit but it is for us to reform

The Lord has responded with a test for the leaders of the church

The conference, the Union, the division have been unable to deal with it

You can help with your prayers and support

DiggingForTruth.org ministry feels it is a privilege to support the efforts of members of a Seventh-day Adventist Church in the New York City area seeking a voice in the affairs of their church
They have gone without a business meeting for over 29 months and the last election of church officers via a nominating committee process was (4/17/2007) over three years and eleven months ago.
At the last business meeting, on Nov. 8, 2008, the congregation voted to have two business meeting every year (one every six months), but the pastor has imposed his will over the will of the congregation and will not call even one.  Without a business meeting the congregation can not call for new elections.  The members of the church board are still running the church even though the position they were elected to, the term of office has expired over 23 months ago.
Complaints were made to the local conference in May 2009 (22 months ago), in Oct. 2009 the Executive Secretary said he would do something promptly. Five months later the conference asked the pastor to come to the conference office to meet with concerned church members and the pastor did not attend the meeting. Nothing was done to reschedule. The Union will not get involved.
Several concerned members have accused the pastor of misconduct according to NAD Working Policy L-60 section 10, this is the only process available for the members to get a business meeting. The local conference and the Union Conference will not follow this working policy or even investigate other complaints of moral misconduct brought to the conference in 2008 and to the Union in 2009.
The President of the North American Division will do nothing more than pray.  See his decision.
He clarifies his decision on Jan. 26, 2010   Click Here
A Vice President of the General Conference has reviewed the issues and sent a report and recommendations to the President of the local conference last year.  However, no one can get a business meeting at this church.  On Feb. 22 the Conference President asked the Pastor to call a businsss meeting.  As of March 29th - no business meeting has been called.
We submit the following text from the inspired writings of Ellen White to guide the leaders and the members.

“There was a time when Israel could not prevail against their enemies. This was because of Achan's sin. God declared, "Neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed thing from among you." God is the same today. If defiling sins are cherished by those who claim to believe the truth, the displeasure of God rests upon the church, and He will not remove it until the members do all in their power to show their hatred for sin, and their determination to cast it out of the church. God is displeased with those who call evil good and good evil. If jealousy, evil surmising, and evil-speaking are allowed to have a place in the church, that church is under the frown of God. It will be spiritually unhealthy until it is cleansed from these sins, for till then God cannot reveal His power to strengthen and elevate His people and give them victory.
God is not pleased with the slothful work done in the churches. He expects His stewards to be true and faithful in giving reproof and correction. They are to expel wrong after the rule God has given in His Word, not according to their own ideas and impulses. No harsh means must be used, no unfair, hasty, impulsive work done. The efforts made to cleanse the church from moral uncleanness must be made in God's way. There must be no partiality, no hypocrisy. There must be no favorites, whose sins are regarded as less sinful than those of others. Oh, how much we all need the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Then we shall always work with the mind of Christ, with kindness, compassion, and sympathy, showing love for the sinner while hating sin with a perfect hatred.”

Thanks to my friend Mark who sent me this text on Jan. 17th
God does not generally work miracles to advance His truth. If the husbandman neglects to cultivate the soil, God works no miracle to counteract the sure results. He works according to great principles made known to us, and it is our part to mature wise plans, and set in operation the means whereby God shall bring about certain results. Those who make no decided effort, but simply wait for the Holy Spirit to compel them to action, will perish in darkness. You are not to sit still and do nothing in the work of God. --  Southern Watchman, Dec. 1, 1903.
