Matthew 18: 19, 20
|
Jesus instructs his disciples to pray together |
The early church united in praying for the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1: 14; 4: 31). Jesus instructed his disciples to pray together. |
"Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there in the midst of them." Matthew 18: 19, 20 [ KJV ] |
Commenting on this text Ellen White adds,
"The promise is made on condition that the united prayers of God's people are offered, and in answer to these prayers there may be expected a power greater than that which comes in answer to private prayer. The power given will be proportionate to the unity of the members and their love for God and for one another.
