This section was created in November 2010 to study and discuss key paragraphs that appears in the writings of Ellen G. White in five or more of her published works.

Each month we will present a new paragraph.  You can discuss it on the Forum or you can post a comment at the bottom of this page.
We are open to ideas and suggestions to improve the 'Our Favorites' pages -

and for you to suggest your favorite paragraph
(include references to at least five places it appears).

Suggestions of texts for the January 2012 favorite

“Prayer is the answer to every problem in life. It puts us in tune with divine wisdom, which knows how to adjust everything perfectly. So often, we do not pray in certain situations because from our standpoint the outlook is hopeless. But nothing is impossible with God. Nothing is so entangled that it cannot be remedied. No human relation is too strained for God to bring about reconciliation and understanding. No habit is so deeply rooted that it cannot be overcome. No one is so weak that he cannot be made strong. Whatever we need or desire, if we trust God, He will supply it. If anything is causing worry and anxiety, let us stop rehearsing the difficulty and trust God for healing, love, and power."

I like this suggestion very much, however, this text does not appear in at least five of Ellen White's published works and therefore, does not qualify fo the 'Our Favorites' section.

I will leave this text here on this page for a blessing to visitors, and I'll add it to the page for EGW texts about Prayer.  See page 944

I have seen this R&H text before and it was not written by Ellen White.  The Ellen White Estate made the following statement regarding this text.

A paragraph regarding the power of prayer that begins, "Prayer is the answer to every problem in life" is not from Ellen G. White, but from an unknown author quoted in an article that appears in the Review & Herald, Oct. 7, 1865. This statement has been circulated as coming from Ellen White, it does not.   For a statement on prayer from Sister White, see Steps to Christ, page 100.
