Old  Testament  Prophecies

God knows what will happen, because it is by His power that He makes them come to pass

Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other;  I am God, and there is none like me.  I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.   Isaiah 46: 9, 10

Old Testament
Prophecy about Memphis, the capital city of Egypt ...
"This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis. No longer will there be a prince in Egype, and I will spread fear throughout the land. " Ezekiel 30: 13   Written in 7th Century BC
"So I will inflict punishment on Egypt, and they will know that I am the Lord" verse 19
"I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt . . . I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries." Ezekiel 30: 22, 23
"For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: The sword of the king of Babylon will come against you. I will cause your hordes to fall by the swords of mighty men . . . They will shatter the pride of Egypt, and all her hordes will be overthrown." Ezekiel 32: 11, 12

Prophecy about Tyre  ...
"This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, O Tyre, and I will bring many nations against you, like the sea casting up its waves. They will destroy the walls of Tyre and pull down her towers; I will scrape away her rubble and make her a bare rock. Out in the sea she will become a place to spread fishnets, for I have spoken . . . She will become plunder for the nations."   Ezekiel 26: 3 - 5
"They will plunder your wealth and loot your merchandise; they will break down your walls and demolish your fine houses and throw your stones, tinder and rubble into the sea . . . I will make you a bare rock, and you will become a place to spread fishnets. You will never be rebuilt, for I the Lord have spoken." Ezekiel 26: 12 - 14

Events precisely fulfilled this prophecy in every detail. Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon attacked Tyre. It took 13 years to destroy the land part of Tyre. The final details took place when Alexander the Great literally scraped the land part of Tyre bare like a rock. He dumped the rubble into the sea to build a causeway a half mile long to attack the part of Tyre surrounded by water. The city has never been rebuilt.
